All-rounder Shadab Khan became the third Pakistan participant to be dominated out of their opening Test towards New Zealand with injury, the nation’s cricket board mentioned on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old spin bowling all-rounder sustained a thigh injury throughout Tuesday’s last Twenty20 match in Napier.

Pakistan is already without skipper Babar Azam and opener Imam-Ul-Haq, each nursing thumb accidents, for the Boxing Day Test scheduled at Mount Maunganui from Dec. 26.
“Shadab will now endure MRI scans in Tauranga on Thursday, following which an additional replacement on the precise nature of the injury and time wanted to return to aggressive cricket shall be offered,” the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) mentioned in a press release.
Uncapped left-arm spinner Zafar Gohar has joined the Test squad from the Pakistan A group presently in Hamilton. The second and last Test are scheduled in Christchurch from Jan. 3.
