Finally, Cricket Australia ( CA) has announced the schedule for the 10th season of BBL (Big Bash League) which starting on Dec 3- Feb 6

Background of BBL – 10

On 15th Jul 2020 CA ( Cricket Australia ) has announced the schedule for BBL-10, which run from Dec 3- Feb 6. 
A total of 61 matches will be played in this season over 2 months despite the COVID-19 Pandemic. We should also remember that the BBL-10 starting along with the IND vs AUS Test series. India vs Aus Test series will be also starting on 3 Dec which played in the day and night.
The summer’s KFC BBL-10 will start 2 weeks earlier in comparison to the BBL-09. Adelaide Striker and Melbourne Renegades will be played the opening match of the BBL-10 on Dec 3 at The Oval while the final of this tournament will be played on Feb 6.
CA ( Cricket Australia ) has also said that the in-season of BBL-10 takes five days to break from Dec 11-15 because the Ind VS Australia day-night Test match will be played during this time.

WBBL Season 6

CA has also announced the 6th season of the WBBL Schedule on 15th July 2020, which starts from October 17-18 to Nov 27-29.
A total of 59 matches will be played in this season.
CA has also said that the schedule of WBBL may be changed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic”
There, Matches will be played across the three venues 
  • North Sydney Oval
  • Blacktown International Park
  • Hurstville Oval.

History of BBL & WBBL

  • This is a Twenty 20 format tournament.
  • It is organized by the CA ( Cricket Australia) 
  • The 1st edition of the BBL was played in 2011 while the 1st edition of the WBBL happened in 2015.
  • This is a double round-robin & Knockout final tournament format.
  • A total of 8 teams participate in this tournament.
  • The current champion of the BBL is Sydney Sixers while Brisbane Heat in the WBBL.
  • Perth Scorchers is the most successful team in the BBL which on 3 times the BBL titles while Sydney Sixers & Brisbane Heat in the WBBL which won 2 times of WBBL titles.
  • Chris Lyn ( 2,332) is the most runner in the BBL while Ellyse Perry in the WBBL
  • Ben Laughlin ( 110 ) is the most wickets in the BBL while Molly Strano ( 96) in the WBBL
